The garden

The garden is coming along. Almost everything is planted, I still need to plant fall lettuce, carrots, and radishes. The corn finally went in and instead of being knee high by the 4th of July it is only ankle high.
The past couple of days I have harvested some beans. The first harvest we shared with the neighbors, but last night I picked for the dinner table, which they never made it to. I also found some peas and those were gone in a matter of minutes.

I planted 125 feet of beans so I think we will be set for winter. This year instead of freezing I am going to try and pressure can them. I have never had them this way before but have heard lots of good things about them, so I am giving them a try.

Fresh peas are beyond amazing, but boy are they a lot of work to freeze for winter. This year we might just eat what we have and not even worry about saving any.

These next couple weeks if you are looking for me- check under the pile of green and yellow beans, I am sure you will find me there!

Happy Harvesting!

Lookin' good! I'm still contemplating planting more peas. Probably should get on top of that this weekend. So far, I really don't have any to eat yet.

I've got flowers on my Sweet Meat Squash and cucumbers finally!!

Thanks Alison! I have never done a fall planting of peas. I have thought about it but never gotten around to it. Let me know how it goes.

You will be swimming in produce in no time!!
