This past weekend Chuck's goal was to finish adding onto the shelter for the cows and sheep. I have not seen them using it yet but I am sure as soon as we get some snow they will be hanging out in there.
The 7 ducks are from our friend Ahna, she and her family hatched them earlier this year and brought them to us the week after Ilana was born. Ducks are so different from chickens. First they are noisy! They seem to be constantly talking. They also travel in a pack. They seem very dependent on one another unlike the chickens that only seem to care about another chicken when one has found a treat. The ducks also love water, I have found them swimming in the water bucket making a dirty mess and 'tainting' the water so the sheep or cows will not drink it. They have not started laying eggs yet but I check everyday. Unlike chickens Ahna said the ducks will lay eggs anywhere- mostly outside of the coop.
